EU Label Compliance — GPSR product labels for Amazon, Etsy & eBay sellers

200 yoga mats. Nine days sitting in an EU warehouse. All because of one line that wasn't on my label: the EU responsible person.

Since 13 December 2024, every consumer product sold in the EU needs someone established in the EU named on it. Most sellers find out in one of three ways:

A · A shipment held at customs, like mine
B · A marketplace listing suddenly blocked
C · A buyer asking who to contact in Europe

Which one happened to you? Write A, B or C in the comments and I'll answer you personally.

And send this to whoever prints your labels. One extra line before printing is cheaper than nine days in a warehouse.

If you change that person mid-season, every unit already printed carries incorrect mandatory information — a compliance failure that marketplace reviewers and market surveillance authorities both act on. A permanent code printed on the label and pointing to a live public record lets you update the responsible person's details without reprinting a single unit.▶ Watch the videoNo EU address on your product? That's illegal. If you sell consumer goods in the EU and are not established there, Article 16 of Regulation (EU) 2023/988 and Article 4 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 both require a named economic operator with a European postal address on the product, its packaging, or an accompanying document. Neither regulation exempts small sellers, low-volume shipments, or marketplace listings. The responsible person's name and address must be printed and legible — a QR code alone does not satisfy the obligation.▶ Watch the videoEU Label Compliance — GPSR product labels for Amazon, Etsy & eBay sellers.Video · 34s11.10.2026 · ENEU Label Compliance — GPSR product labels for Amazon, Etsy & eBay sellers.Under Regulation (EU) 2023/988 (GPSR), every product sold in the EU must carry the manufacturer's name and address, the EU responsible person's name and address, a product identifier (type, batch or serial number), and safety warnings in the language of each country where it is sold. A label missing any of these blocks is non-compliant, and marketplaces including Amazon suspend listings on that basis alone. EU Label Compliance issues the certificate immediately and delivers print-ready artwork in all 24 EU official languages the same day orders are placed before 15:00 CET.▶ Watch the videoEU Label Compliance — GPSR product labels for Amazon, Etsy & eBay sellers I pour every…Video · 32s09.10.2026 · ENEU Label Compliance — GPSR product labels for Amazon, Etsy & eBay sellers I pour every…Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety applies from 13 December 2024 to every economic operator placing consumer goods on the EU market—including sole traders, craft sellers and one-person workshops. There is no size threshold and no blanket exemption for handmade products. Stock already on the EU market before that date can continue to be sold; stock entering the market from that date must carry the compliant label blocks.▶ Watch the video13 December. Getting these blocks wrong after a product has shipped generates costs — rush reprints, rush translations, storage fees during listing suspensions — that typically exceed the cost of correct artwork ordered before the first shipment.▶ Watch the video
